2nd National Conference ETET-2013 held at Campus

 SBIT, Sonepat organized a two day IEEE National Conference on Emerging Trends in Engineering and Technology ETET-2013, in the campus itself.

The conference was organized on 8-9 February 2013. The Conference was organized in association with IEEE Student Branch under Delhi Section in collaboration with CSI (Computer Society of India) Student Branch, ISTE (Indian Society for Technical Education) Student Branch and was sponsored by Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) and Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO), New Delhi.

It was a major conference organized with the objective of bringing together the researchers and from academia working in the area of advanced computing, advances in communication and networks. All the accepted papers in the conference have been published in SBIT Journal of Science and Technology.

On the first day, the conference was chaired by Chairperson, Ms. Sushil Yadav along with hon’ble Chief Guest Prof. Moin Uddin, the Guest of Honor Dr. V.R. Singh and Guest Invitee Prof. M.M. Sharma. Being the 2nd Annual Conference on Emerging Trends in Engineering and Technology, some of the great challenges were identified with the new growth platform strategic innovation and leveraging diversity in the exclusive events in technology.

Friendly sphere gave insights on ways to create more awareness on learning spirit to the aspired students of engineering.

The welcome address was delivered by Dr. R.K. Sharma, Director - SBIT, followed by Dr. Jagdish Prasad, Director Research at SBIT, who revealed the mission and scope of the conference.

Prof. Moin Uddin, Pro Vice Chancellor, DTU, New Delhi, Chief Guest for the inaugural session spoke about the basic application in technological education and prominently spoke about the thrust areas of learning and encouraged the students.

Dr. V.R Singh, Chairman of IEEE-Delhi Section and Chair of IEEE - Delhi joint chapter as well as Vice President of Ultrasonic Society of India was the hon’ble Guest of Honor for the session, said that aspirations without quality leads to no way. Hence the students need commitment, courage, character and concentration on projects beneficial to the society.

There were various tracks running in parallel for ECE, CSE, ME, Applied Sciences. Numerous workshops, tutorials and guest lecturers were delivered by various well-read professionals from various renowned institutions across the nation. A creative tinge to the conference was added to the conference in the name of ‘E- Rangoli and E-Collage‘ like competition, to augment the programming skills of the students ‘Code Writing in C‘, a programming competition was organized; and the main highlight of the conference was ‘Technovision-The Gadget Quiz‘.

Finally in valedictory ceremony, Dr. P.K. Saxena, Director - SAG at DRDO was the Chief Guest and he spoke about the role of a conference where sharing the thoughts, seeing the opportunities creating the boundaries where innovations and applications to empower the society and the country.

Mr. Ashish Agarwal, Assitant Vice President, New Product Innovation at Genpact, LLC was the hon’ble Guest of Honor at the concluding session gave a heartwarming speech where he talked about innovations in cloud computing and how it has brought a vast change through cost but still not ready for all of us to adopt it.

Ms. Sushil Yadav, Chairperson SBIT congratulated the students for their encouraging efforts which one day can become from nascent innovations to a technology to be proud of.

Students truly accepted the wise thoughts of the great and renowned speakers and realized their role to become engineers for tomorrow.
