DEIT GoI Sponsored Workshop held at Campus

SBIT, Sonepat hosted a day’s workshop on ESDM (Electronic System Design and Manufacturing) in its campus in collaboration with CSI (Computer Society of India) Student Branch in association with IEEE Student Branch and ISTE (Indian Society for Technical Education) Student Branch and sponsored by Department of Electronic and Information Technology, Government of India, New Delhi on 10th April, 2013.

The workshop aimed to present the members to the invitee lectures given by experts from the electronics manufacturing industries.

The occasion was graced by Hon’ble Chief Guest Dr. B.K. Sehgal, Director (Devices), Scientist ‘G’, SSPL, DRDO, New Delhi, the Guest of Honor Dr. Rajeev Kapoor, H.O.D. ECE Department, DTU, Delhi along with Guest Invitee Mr. Tarun Bhalla from Building Blocks, Mr Prahalad Anandam, Mr. Shekhar and Mr. Sumod, BDM Multisoft Systems. The objective of the workshop was to make academia and students aware of this sunrise sector, and its importance for economic growth of our country. It also attracted talent to the sector for meeting its intellectual and human resource requirements.

Prof. Jagdish Prasad, Director Research SBIT inaugurated the workshop in the institute auditorium. Dr. B.K. Sehgal spoke about India’s advantage of smart, laborious and large man power and how it can be utilized in various innovative projects. The speakers of the workshop spoke on SC devices and its application in system design offered in eletronics. 

The Workshop involved all the key stakeholders of the electronic hardware manufacturing sector. The event had an active participation from the Education sector including government and private representatives. There were several guest speakers from IIT, government agencies, research laboratories including corporate sectors. Industry experts gave an overview of Electronic system and Technology and spoke about the emerging technologies and career opportunities.

Dr. Rajeev Kapoor, Head, ECE Department, DTU, Delhi appreciated the role of the institute to make the workshop a success. He revealed that Electronic industry is fastest growing manufacturing industry in India and globally.

All the attendees witnessed the changing trends in the industry due to emerging technologies of the current era.
