National Conference on Digital Signal Processing & its Applications held at Campus
National Conference on Digital Signal Processing and its Applications (DSA) was organized by the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering of SBIT, Sonepat on 22 – 23 Oct 2010. It was sponsored by CSIR (Council of Scientific & Industrial Research) highlighting the need of digital signal processing.
The Objective and Scope is multitudinous and is becoming popular every day. It is being used in communication, aeronautics, robotics, acoustic, circuit designing etc. It is also being used in image processing, satellite communication & space exploration. The following topics were discussed:
- Signal & Image Processing
- Adaptive Control System
- Multi Channel Signal Processing
- Image & Multimedia Processing
The Guest of Honor for the Conference was Dr. Naveen Rajpal, Head of Computer Science Department, University School Information Technolog, New Delhi. He congratulated the Chairperson Ms. Sushil and the Management for the exemplary programs being often held at SBIT. He spoke about the current scenario of digital signal processing.. He took interest to answer the queries of the students. The next speaker was Mr. Rajeshwar Dass Yadav from D.C.R.U.S.T. Murthal, who spoke on the topic “Image Processing & its Application” in various fields. He spent quite sometime gleaming on the subject, revealing the truth of technology and how it has become a part of life. He expressed his delight in the various applications and while presenting the technical session. He discussed the subjective and objective use of technology in the various walks of life, enabling intelligent use of technology operation and improvement of the systems. The next speaker was Mr. Mahesh Shukla from ST Erricson. His address had been interesting and noteworthy which described amplification of a signal. It has been an erudite session. Technology could amalgamate man with technology and intelligence. Often, we have seen that common man is able to blend with the requirements of operating the machines. Indeed a proud moment for the country to realize the need of perpetual education and to strengthen her socio-economic status.
Prof. M. M. Sharma, the Convener, spoke about translation of the signal in the next generation usage. He said that this new technology would transform information systematically and also told that how transmission would help. He gave solutions to the problems of the students regarding the papers which had been presented at the seminar. The students from the 2nd, 3rd and 4th year presented their papers dealing with communication through optics using one of the latest technologies called ‘The Free Space Optics (FSO)’. It may sound new and empirical but it predates optical fiber and has its roots in wartime efforts to develop secured communication systems which did not require cable and withstand radio jamming.
Papers were presented on the following topics:
- Flying Robot
- Signal & Image Processing
- Networking
- Next Generation Wireless Communication
- DSP combined with Artificial Intelligence
There were several presentations from the Faculty members on the following topics :
- Adaptive Control System
- Multi Channel Signal Processing
- Image & Multimedia Processing
There were guest faculty of other colleges to present their papers dealing with Digital Signal Processing and its applications.
