Amit Kumar is the General Manager (GM) of Bengaluru office, Sumitomo Corporation (SC) India Pvt. Ltd. He is also GM of R&D department at SC India. In his current role, Amit is responsible for identifying startups with innovative and cutting-edge technology or business model for collaboration/partnership or investment by SC.
Before joining SC India, Amit supported in establishment of Indian subsidiary of Nomura Research Institute (NRI) in Gurugram in 2011. NRI is one the largest management consulting and IT services / consulting firm from Japan.
Amit was in Tokyo, Japan from 2003 to 2011 where he completed his masters and research from KEIO university in electronic chip designing (VLSI Design). After graduation he worked as a partner in a management consulting company.
Amit graduated from IIT Roorkee in Electronics and Communications and had worked in various companies in IT industry in India.
