As today’s world is very dynamic & changing technology is also accelerating the pace of its dynamism, it is very much essential for individual corporate and other agencies to know how to manage. Learning Management is even more substantial for engineers as they deal with complex matrix and economics of technology, machines, human resource, demand & supply etc. Even the large scale industrial production has resulted in widening the area of managerial supervision. Management, in the present day, has become an integral part of business. It helps the organization in planning, organizing, staffing, leading & controlling. Modern day managers face two important challenges. First, how to break away from the norm and second, resilience to work under stressful conditions. Department’s course execution encourages students to think out of box. Creative thinking, initiative and innovative approach to problem solving are appreciated and rewarded. The rigor involved in courses offered makes sure that students are sensitized and trained to take the stressful situations with ease. “A hundred times every day, I remind myself that my inner and outer life depend on the labors of other men, living and dead. And that I must exert myself in order to give in the same measure as I have received and am still receiving.” – Albert Einstein

Industry Interface

SBIT collaborates with institutions and industries to enhance the quality of teaching. Our endeavor has always been to be at the cutting edge of business education. However, the word education always has two sides to it – theory and practice. Apart from the conventional methods of developing corporate interface such as organizing guest lectures, industrial visits and seminars; provision of live projects enable the students in associating themselves with the industry on the real life issues.

Guest Lectures

We Invite Eminent personalities form various Industries and Institutions to discuss current issues and contemporary concepts that build necessary competence to face the dynamic challenges of the future. These lectures give participants the perspective of challenges faced by people of leading companies and hence learn from their experiences.

Live Projects

At SBIT, emphasis is given on not only making you academically brilliant, but true leaders and team players, thus preparing you for the real life corporate world. The main objective of Live Projects is to help the student develop skill set that future leaders require.

Industry Visits

To provide first-hand practical information about production operations and techniques used in manufacturing industries and help students to build on their academic knowledge, SBIT organizes Industrial visits for students to various manufacturing plants/facilities across India. This provides an opportunity for students to understand various processes and practices and relate them to theoretical concepts learnt in classes; thus bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and its application in industry.

Pedagogy

At SBIT, we focus on Attitudes (To Be) and Skills (To Do) aspects of management education as much as Knowledge (To Know) aspect. Though due importance is given to classroom learning, the effort is made to build suitable stimuli into non-classroom learning, on which the participants can base their own self-development architecture. A variety of methods are used to teach students. Lecture sessions are supplemented with case studies, individual and team exercises, live projects, assignments, seminar presentations, business games, etc. Considerable emphasis is placed on team assignments, team discussions and teamwork.

Presentations : help in increasing the confidence levels in students, as also developing communication and presentations skills. Special sessions are regularly arranged for the purpose. Topic are assigned and examined by experts, on different parameters. Presentations are also an essential part of every course in the curriculum.

Management club : Activity clubs are created by the students themselves. Each has its own activity calendar and events/activities are organized as a routine.

Inter College competition : Students are also sent out to take part in various events and competitions organized by other institutes. This helps the students in developing leadership and decision making skills. They also understand the importance of reaching out and networking.
